Along the way, he survived on basic meals of ugali and mboga, pushing forward despite having very limited resources.
According to Oscar Sudi, Nehemiah’s story stood out because it reflected genuine passion for leadership, not comfort or privilege.
The MP said many people talk about leadership, but very few are willing to sacrifice so much just to be present and be heard.
For Sudi, Nehemiah’s determination showed the true spirit of hustling and self-belief.
Nehemiah Rotich is a student at Cambridge Universal College in Eldoret, where he is pursuing his studies while also building his political ambitions.
He hopes to vie for the Member of County Assembly (MCA) seat for Koitugum Ward in Chebororwa Division.
His goal, he says, is to serve his community and help vulnerable families who struggle daily with poverty and lack of opportunities.
Speaking about his journey, Nehemiah said the decision to cycle such a long distance was not easy, but he felt it was necessary.
He explained that he could not afford transport to Nairobi, yet missing the meeting was not an option.
His dream of leadership, he said, gave him the strength to keep pedaling even when his body was tired and his resources were stretched.
Oscar Sudi noted that the motorbike gift is meant to support Nehemiah beyond politics.
The MP said the bike will help the young aspirant improve his business activities and make movement easier as he continues his studies and political engagement.
He added that empowering young people with tools that improve their daily lives is more meaningful than empty encouragement.
