Former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka has expressed deep concern over the reported disappearance of veteran politician Raphael Tuju, linking the incident to an ongoing dispute over a commercial property in Karen, Nairobi.

Speaking during a church service in Kiharu on Sunday, March 22, 2026, Kalonzo told congregants that Tuju had allegedly been abducted.

His remarks immediately drew attention, with many now calling for urgent clarification from security agencies.

Kalonzo said he had been in communication with Tuju prior to his disappearance.

According to him, the former Cabinet minister had raised concerns about irregularities involving the ownership and documentation of a property located in Karen.

The issue, he suggested, could be connected to Tuju’s sudden disappearance.

“Tukiwa hapa, Mheshimiwa Raphael Tuju ametekwa nyara,” Kalonzo told the congregation, using strong words to describe the situation.

He went on to question why Tuju had not been presented before any court of law if he was being held by authorities.

Kalonzo added that if Tuju is not produced in public and formally charged with an offence by Monday, then serious questions must be asked.

“If he is not produced today, and tomorrow is Monday, and he has not been charged with any offence and I suspect there is none then we must demand answers,” he said.

His statement has added pressure on security agencies to respond quickly and clearly on the matter.

So far, there has been no official confirmation from authorities about Tuju’s alleged abduction or whereabouts, leaving the public with more questions than answers.

The mention of a property dispute has further complicated the situation.

According to Kalonzo, Tuju had complained about issues with a title deed connected to his commercial property in Karen, an area known for high-value real estate.

Disputes over land ownership in such areas are often complex and can involve legal battles, claims of fraud, or contested documentation.

Observers say Kalonzo’s remarks could shift attention to the property issue as a possible motive, although no evidence has yet been presented to directly link the dispute to the reported disappearance.

As news of the incident spreads, leaders and members of the public are urging calm while also calling for transparency.

Many are asking authorities to move quickly, either to confirm Tuju’s safety or to provide details about what may have happened to him.
