Coordinated Attacks Rock Mali as Explosions and Gunfire Reported in Bamako and Beyond

Explosions and sustained gunfire have been reported in Mali’s capital, Bamako, as armed groups launched what appear to be coordinated attacks across the country.

In a statement issued on Saturday, the military said “fighting is ongoing”, adding that “our defence and security forces are currently engaged in repelling the attackers”.
