President William Ruto has said his development record guarantees him a second term, dismissing claims by his opponents that his government has failed to deliver.

The President defended the progress of his projects, insisting that his administration is on the right path to achieve its development agenda.

He also rejected allegations that Ksh103 billion was lost through the Social Health Authority (SHA), accusing opposition leaders of lacking an understanding of the programme’s benefits.

Ruto made the remarks during a meeting with members of Maendeleo ya Wanawake, where he praised women for their role in driving the country’s development.

“They said nothing is working, but today stalled road projects have resumed, contractors are back on site.

They claimed affordable housing was impossible, yet across Kenya, markets and housing projects are taking shape,” Ruto noted.

The President said his administration had revived key infrastructure projects that had previously stalled, adding that ongoing developments in housing and markets were clear indicators of progress.

He maintained that despite criticism from political opponents, the government remains focused on delivering its promises to Kenyans.

Ruto added that it has become routine for some leaders to oppose all government initiatives, but insisted that citizens will continue to witness tangible results from his administration.

“Hiyo porojo yao sio porojo wameanza sahizi, walianza zamani. Wao ndio walituambia ati Bomas imeuzwa kwa Waturuki. Leo Bomas inajengwa na itakamilika miezi miwili mitatu inayokuja.

Wakasema barabara ya Mau Summit ata wheelbarrow hawajaona. Wale mmepitia hiyo barabara inajengwa au haijengwi?” he said.

He used the examples to counter criticism, arguing that some claims made by opponents in the past had been proven wrong by ongoing developments.

The President reiterated that his government is committed to completing projects across the country, particularly those aimed at improving infrastructure and boosting economic growth.

On the Social Health Authority, Ruto dismissed allegations of financial losses, stating that critics had misunderstood how the programme operates.

He said the new health system is designed to improve access to healthcare services and ensure more Kenyans benefit from government support.

The meeting with Maendeleo ya Wanawake brought together women leaders from across the country, providing a platform to discuss development issues and the role of women in national growth.

Ruto commended the group for its continued support of government initiatives, noting that women remain central to community development and economic transformation.

His remarks come amid ongoing political debate over the performance of his administration, with both supporters and critics offering differing views on the progress made so far.
