Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has strongly criticised President William Ruto, accusing him of playing a direct role in influencing the outcomes of the Malava and Mbeere North by-elections.

Kalonzo claimed that the results announced on Thursday, November 30, 2025, did not represent the true wishes of the voters.

Speaking on Sunday during a thanksgiving service at AIC Mukuni Church in Machakos County, Kalonzo said the victories declared for UDA candidates were not genuine.

He argued that the government used state agencies, including senior police officers, to tilt the results in favour of its preferred candidates.

According to him, what happened in both constituencies was a clear signal that the democratic space in the country was shrinking.

Kalonzo alleged that President Ruto personally contacted top security officials as the voting and tallying processes were underway.

He said such actions had created an atmosphere of fear and intimidation, making it impossible for the elections to be free, fair, or transparent.

He added that when powerful individuals interfere with the electoral process, independent institutions lose their ability to function properly.

The Wiper leader described the situation as alarming and called for both national and international attention.

He urged election observers, human rights bodies, and democratic partners to take a closer look at the patterns emerging in the country’s political contests.

According to him, ignoring these signs would put Kenya’s democratic future at risk.

Kalonzo also encouraged Kenyans not to lose hope, insisting that the truth would eventually come out.

He said leaders who believe in justice must stand firm and defend the rights of citizens to choose their representatives without pressure or manipulation.
