Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti has strongly criticised UDA Secretary General Hassan Omar for what she termed as disrespectful remarks aimed at the Wiper Patriotic Front.

Omar had referred to Wiper as a “village party,” a statement that sparked anger among leaders and supporters in the region.

Speaking on Sunday, November 30, 2025, during a thanksgiving service at AIC Mukuni in Machakos County, Governor Ndeti said such comments were unnecessary and showed a lack of respect for a party that enjoys significant support across the country.

She reminded Omar that political competition should be conducted with dignity, and leaders should avoid belittling others.

The event brought together Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, local leaders, and residents who had gathered to celebrate the victory of Anthony Kisoi.

Kisoi had just won the Mumbuni North Ward by-election on a Wiper ticket, a win that was seen as a strong statement of the party’s influence in Machakos.

During her address, Ndeti emphasised that Wiper is a national party with deep roots in many parts of Kenya, not a small outfit as suggested.

She praised residents of Mumbuni North for standing firmly with the party and showing confidence in its leadership.

According to her, the by-election victory demonstrated that the people of Machakos believe in Wiper’s vision and development agenda.

Kalonzo Musyoka, who also spoke at the event, congratulated Kisoi and thanked voters for their continued trust.

He urged leaders to focus on service delivery instead of engaging in divisive politics.

Kalonzo added that the party would continue pushing for unity, fairness, and accountability both in Machakos and nationally.
