Former Law Society of Kenya (LSK) President Faith Odhiambo has sent a warm birthday message to Siaya Governor James Orengo, praising his long and steady commitment to justice, equality, and the rule of law in Kenya.

In her message, Odhiambo described Orengo as a leader whose courage and determination have inspired many people across the country.

She noted that his voice has remained firm over the years, especially when it comes to defending the Constitution and speaking up for the rights of ordinary Kenyans.

“Happy birthday James Orengo,” she wrote. “Your enduring resolve to agitate for a better, more equal Kenya is an inspiration to all of us who believe in a Kenya anchored in constitutionalism and the rule of law.”

Odhiambo’s message reflects the deep respect many legal minds and political leaders have for Orengo’s history in public service. For decades, Orengo has been known as a strong defender of democracy.

From his early days as a young activist to his current role as governor, he has consistently spoken against injustice and misuse of power.

Odhiambo pointed out that Orengo’s work has not only shaped political debate in Kenya but has also strengthened the country’s legal foundation.

She said leaders like him have helped protect the Constitution and ensure that public office remains accountable to the people.

As he marks another year, Odhiambo wished Orengo good health and strength so that he can continue offering guidance and wisdom to the nation.

She expressed hope that he will keep mentoring young leaders and lawyers who look up to him.

“As you turn a year older, may you have good health and strength to continue enriching us with your wisdom,” she added.

The message comes at a time when conversations around governance, accountability, and constitutional order remain central in Kenya’s public life.

Odhiambo’s tribute highlights the importance of leaders who stand firm on principles, even when facing pressure or criticism.

Many Kenyans view Orengo as a symbol of resilience. Over the years, he has taken bold positions, sometimes at personal and political cost. Yet, according to Odhiambo, that is what makes his journey admirable.

She believes that standing for fairness and equality is not always easy, but it is necessary for the growth of a democratic society.
