According to the notice, the interruptions will affect selected areas in Nairobi, Nakuru County, Nyeri County and Kiambu County at different times during the day.
In Nairobi County, the outage will affect the Jesus Celebration Centre area and its surroundings from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Businesses, churches, schools and residents in the area have been advised to plan ahead and make necessary arrangements to avoid inconvenience during the eight-hour blackout.
Kenya Power noted that similar maintenance work will be carried out in selected locations within Nakuru, Nyeri and Kiambu counties.
Although specific areas differ in each county, the interruptions are expected to take place during daytime hours.
The utility company encouraged customers to treat all power lines as live during the maintenance period and to avoid interfering with electrical installations.
It also advised residents to unplug sensitive electronic equipment to prevent damage when electricity supply is restored.
Planned power interruptions are common during system upgrades, as engineers need to switch off supply temporarily to work safely on transmission lines and substations.
Kenya Power said such maintenance helps reduce unexpected blackouts in the future and improves the overall stability of the network.
The announcement comes at a time when demand for electricity continues to grow across the country, driven by urban expansion, industrial development and increased household connections.
The company says consistent maintenance is key to meeting this demand efficiently.
Customers seeking more information have been directed to check the company’s official communication channels for updates.
Kenya Power apologized for any inconvenience caused and thanked customers for their patience as it works to enhance service delivery.
