The family of the late former Nyeri Governor Nderitu Gachagua has formally petitioned President William Ruto, seeking his intervention in a long-running dispute over the deceased’s estate.

In a detailed letter dated March 23 this year, the family appealed to the Head of State to initiate investigations into what they describe as fraud, forgery, and unlawful interference in the management of the estate.

The petition, which was addressed through the Office of the Attorney General, outlines claims that a close relative has, over the years, orchestrated schemes aimed at disinheriting the rightful beneficiaries of the late governor.

According to the family, the alleged interference has involved irregular transfer of assets, the use of proxies to defraud the estate, and the forceful acquisition of properties belonging to the deceased.

They argue that these actions have significantly undermined efforts to manage and distribute the estate in accordance with the law.

The family further claims that despite the matter being in contention for several years, attempts to resolve the dispute through existing legal channels have not yielded satisfactory outcomes.

They now want the President to step in and ensure that the matter is investigated thoroughly and handled transparently.

In their appeal, the family is also seeking the recovery of assets they believe were unlawfully transferred or acquired.

They insist that a comprehensive probe would help establish the truth and safeguard the interests of legitimate beneficiaries.

The dispute over the estate of the late Nderitu Gachagua has reportedly been ongoing, drawing concern from family members who say the continued wrangles have delayed closure and proper administration of the assets left behind.

They have urged the government, through relevant agencies, to intervene and restore order in the management of the estate.

The family maintains that justice can only be achieved if all allegations are independently investigated and appropriate action taken against those found culpable.

At the centre of the petition are claims of document manipulation and fraudulent dealings, which the family says have complicated the administration process.

They have called for forensic investigations into the transactions and documents associated with the estate.

The appeal to President Ruto signals a shift in the family’s approach, as they seek higher-level intervention after years of what they describe as unresolved grievances.

They expressed hope that the involvement of the national government would bring clarity and a lasting solution to the matter.
