Owino and Orengo emphasized the importance of swift and decisive action by investigative agencies, urging authorities to ensure that those responsible are identified and prosecuted without delay.
They noted that such incidents, if left unaddressed, could undermine public confidence in the rule of law and the country’s democratic institutions.
They further pointed out that leaders must be able to perform their duties without fear, intimidation, or interference, adding that any form of political hostility should be firmly dealt with through legal channels.
“We call for swift action to be taken against the perpetrators,” they added.
The leaders underscored the need for thorough and impartial investigations, saying justice must not only be done but must also be seen to be done.
They warned that failure to act promptly could set a dangerous precedent and embolden those who engage in unlawful acts.
Owino and Orengo also called on political leaders across the divide to exercise restraint and uphold decorum in their engagements.
They said differences in opinion should be addressed through dialogue and within the confines of the law, rather than through actions that could escalate tensions.
They reiterated that respect for institutions and adherence to the law are critical in maintaining national stability, especially at a time when the country continues to navigate complex political dynamics.
