Felix Odiwuor, popularly known as Jalang’o, on Tuesday joined residents of South C Shopping Centre who staged protests over the poor condition of roads in the area.

The residents, frustrated by the deteriorating state of the roads, gathered at the busy shopping centre to demand urgent intervention from the government and relevant authorities.

The protest briefly disrupted movement and business activities as locals voiced concerns over what they described as years of neglect and unfulfilled promises.

Speaking during the demonstration, the Felix Odiwuor acknowledged the residents’ frustrations and assured them that efforts were underway to address the problem.

He said he had already initiated engagements with the relevant government agencies and authorities responsible for roads and infrastructure development in a bid to find a lasting solution.

“I understand the frustration of the people of South C because these roads affect businesses, transport, and the daily lives of residents.

We are engaging the relevant authorities to ensure this issue is addressed,” he said.

Residents complained that the poor road network had made transport difficult, especially during rainy seasons when some sections become nearly impassable.

They said the situation had affected businesses, increased transport costs, and exposed motorists and pedestrians to accidents and insecurity.

Several motorists operating within the area also expressed concern over the increasing damage to vehicles caused by potholes and poor drainage systems.

Public service vehicle operators noted that traffic congestion had worsened due to the damaged roads, forcing commuters to spend more time on the road.

Business owners around South C Shopping Centre said the poor infrastructure was negatively affecting customer access and slowing economic activities in the area.

Some traders claimed that clients had started avoiding sections of the shopping centre because of flooding and poor accessibility.

The protest attracted a large crowd of residents, boda boda operators, motorists, and traders who called for immediate repairs and long-term infrastructure planning within the constituency.
