Saboti MP Caleb Amisi has launched a sharp public attack against Treasury Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi over alleged remarks directed at Ruth Odinga.

In a strongly worded statement shared publicly, Amisi expressed outrage over what he described as disrespect towards Ruth Odinga, who is the sister of veteran opposition leader Raila Odinga.

“Kuna kitu imeniuma tangu juzi wacha niseme initoke,” Amisi stated before questioning Mbadi’s conduct.

“Where does CS John Mbadi get the audacity to abuse and attack the sister to Raila Odinga, Ruth Odinga? A man who helped him win political seats and made him minister in Ruto government? Wonders will never cease!” Amisi said.

The outspoken lawmaker appeared angered by what he viewed as political betrayal and lack of respect toward a family closely associated with the Orange Democratic Movement’s history and leadership.

Amisi further added, “Baba continue resting in peace. You were surrounded by vultures.”

His remarks have since sparked debate within political circles, especially among ODM supporters and allies, with many interpreting the statement as evidence of growing tensions within sections of the party and leaders associated with the broad opposition movement.

Although Mbadi had not publicly responded to the remarks by the time of publication, the comments are likely to intensify political discussions surrounding loyalty, leadership, and relationships within ODM and the Kenya Kwanza administration.

Mbadi, a longtime ODM member before his appointment to President William Ruto’s Cabinet, has in recent months faced criticism from some opposition supporters who accuse him of growing distant from the party’s traditional political line following his entry into government.

Ruth Odinga remains a respected political figure within Nyanza politics and has maintained close ties with ODM supporters over the years.

Any perceived criticism directed at her often attracts strong reactions from sections of the party’s grassroots supporters and leaders.

Amisi’s latest remarks also reflect the increasingly vocal political exchanges emerging within ODM-linked circles as leaders position themselves amid shifting alliances and changing political dynamics ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Political analysts say frustrations among some opposition figures have continued to surface following cooperation between certain ODM leaders and the Kenya Kwanza administration.

The arrangement has created divisions among supporters, with some defending the engagement as necessary for national unity while others view it as political compromise.
