The meeting brought together party-linked youth leaders and elected representatives who focused discussions on political cohesion, leadership succession, and the growing role of young people in shaping Kenya’s political direction.
During the forum, one Member of Parliament emphasised that unity remained the community’s strongest political asset, warning that internal divisions could weaken their influence in national politics.
“When you look at our numbers in terms of voters, we are many. Added to the strength of unity we have, that has always put us at the forefront.
But when we are not together, we lose our power. We should maintain unity and strengthen it ahead of 2027,” he said.
He further cautioned against divisive political tendencies, noting that fragmentation within the community could undermine long-term strategic interests.
The MP urged leaders and residents to focus on cohesion and shared goals as the country moves closer to the next election cycle.
In a notable political appeal, the legislator also encouraged the community to rally behind President William Ruto in the upcoming elections, signalling a call for broader political alignment and cooperation beyond traditional party lines.
His remarks come at a time when political realignments are beginning to take shape across different regions, with leaders seeking to consolidate support bases ahead of 2027.
The MP also placed strong emphasis on the role of young people in shaping the country’s future leadership.
He encouraged youth to actively participate in politics by vying for elective positions at all levels, saying their involvement would be key in redefining leadership in the coming years.
“Young people are currently shaping Kenyan politics. Take your positions and vie for political seats. Do not wait to be called. We want to leave space for you to rise and lead in the coming years,” he added.
The forum highlighted growing efforts within political circles to integrate youth voices into decision-making structures, while also addressing concerns around leadership transition and generational representation.
