“We Were All Upset” Shollei Reveals Internal Reactions to Hassan Omar Comments

National Assembly Deputy Speaker Gladys Shollei has revealed that leaders within the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) were strongly displeased with remarks made by party Secretary General Hassan Omar, which were perceived as targeting the Kikuyu community.

Speaking on the matter, Shollei said there was widespread dissatisfaction within the party following the comments, adding that many leaders openly confronted Omar over the issue and demanded accountability.

“All of us were very upset with UDA Secretary General, Hassan Omar, (over his remarks targeting the Kikuyu community). Even in our own group, there was a lot of telling off to him,” she said.
