Edward Muriu has strongly criticized the recent events in Mbeere, saying what took place there cannot be called an election.

According to him, the whole process was messy, chaotic, and far from the democratic standards Kenyans expect.

Muriu explained that people in the area were denied a fair chance to choose their leader, and instead, the process was controlled in a way that made genuine voting impossible.

He claimed that what unfolded in Mbeere was not only unfair but also a clear sign that Kenya’s democracy is under threat.

In his view, citizens deserve a clean, transparent, and peaceful election, but what they witnessed was the opposite.

Muriu said that people were intimidated, systems failed, and the credibility of the vote was completely lost.

He did not stop there. Muriu also directed his frustration toward President William Ruto, saying that if the country continues on this path, it risks heading into deeper trouble.
He argued that leadership should protect democratic values, not weaken them.

For him, the events in Mbeere showed a worrying trend where leaders allow or encourage actions that harm the country’s progress.

Muriu stressed that Kenya needs honest leadership leaders who defend the rights of ordinary people and respect the will of voters.

He warned that if the country keeps moving in the same direction, the damage could be long-lasting.

According to him, democracy is not just about voting; it is about trust, fairness, and protecting the voice of every citizen.
