Education Principal Secretary Belio Kipsang Bitok has announced that the placement of learners who sat the 2025 Kenya Junior Secondary Education Assessment (KJSEA) will begin right away following the release of the exam results.

He said the entire process will be done digitally to ensure fairness, accuracy, and convenience for all candidates and their families.

Speaking shortly after Education CS Julius Ogamba unveiled the results, PS Bitok explained that the ministry is fully prepared to start assigning learners to their preferred senior schools.

He noted that technology will play a central role in the placement exercise, allowing students to be matched to schools based on their performance, interests, and the pathways they qualify for under the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC).

The PS assured parents and learners that the digital system has been tested and is designed to prevent errors or bias.

According to him, using technology will also fast-track the process so that families can know the schools their children will join well before the January 2026 reporting date.

Bitok emphasized that the placement system will consider the different pathways STEM, Social Sciences, and Arts and Sports ensuring that each learner is guided toward areas where they have shown the most potential.

He said the ministry’s goal is to place every child in an environment that best supports their talent and future career development.

He encouraged learners to take confidence in the process, explaining that it has been built to ensure each student receives a fair opportunity.

PS Bitok also urged parents to support the paths their children qualify for, reminding them that CBC is designed to help learners grow according to their strengths rather than traditional exam competition.
