President William Ruto has announced that Kenya is on track to complete what will become the largest conference facility in East and Central Africa by April next year.

The massive project, currently under construction at the Bomas of Kenya, is being worked on day and night to ensure it is ready for use within the set timeline.

Speaking during an event, President Ruto said the project is progressing at a remarkable pace, with construction teams working 24 hours a day.

He emphasized that the government aims to begin using the new conference centre as early as May next year, noting that the facility is not only a national asset but also an economic opportunity for the country.

The President revealed that the centre has already attracted international attention even before completion.

According to him, the facility has been booked for the France–Africa Summit scheduled for May 12, 2026.

He said this early booking shows the confidence that global partners have in Kenya’s ability to deliver world-class facilities.

Ruto explained that the upcoming mega-facility will help position Kenya as a major hub for global meetings, exhibitions, and high-level conferences.

He said the country has long needed a large, modern conference space that can host thousands of participants and meet global standards for technology, security, and comfort.

He stressed that the project is part of a broader plan to promote tourism, create jobs, and increase revenue by attracting large international events.

According to the President, once completed, the conference centre will support a wide range of activities including global summits, trade exhibitions, cultural festivals, and business forums.

Ruto also highlighted the economic ripple effects expected from the project.
