Kileleshwa MCA, Robert Alai, has set the record straight, denying claims that he pulled out a gun on Embakasi East MP, Babu Owino, during an altercation at a Kilimani restaurant.

Alai dismissed the allegations as "false" and clarified what happened during the heated exchange at Cedar Restaurant.

According to Alai, the incident unfolded when Babu Owino, who was sitting at a different table, approached to greet him.

However, Alai was not keen on interacting with the MP. "I told him I was not comfortable greeting him," Alai explained.

Things quickly escalated when Babu allegedly began pushing Alai's head, an act that made the Kileleshwa MCA visibly uncomfortable.

Alai described how Babu, while pushing his head, insisted that he would "arrange" him within the Nairobi City County, a reference to political maneuvering.

Alai also recalled how he urged the Embakasi East MP to keep family members out of politics.

The disagreement seemed to have set Babu off, as he grew more agitated and continued pushing Alai's head, despite the Kileleshwa MCA’s attempts to de-escalate the situation.

“I told him I wasn’t interested in greeting him, and I just wanted him to leave me alone. But he kept pushing me,” Alai recounted.

“It became clear that this wasn’t just about politics, but personal boundaries being crossed.”

Alai also strongly denied reports suggesting that he drew a firearm during the altercation, stating, “I did not pull out a gun. I only stood up and pushed him back. It was just a physical push to stop him from continuing the aggression.”

Despite the dramatic nature of the incident, Alai is adamant that the situation was blown out of proportion, and that no weapons were involved.
