He expressed confidence in the future of the nation, saying Kenya still has great potential and can be steered back on the right path with honest leadership and unity.
Speaking after a consultative meeting held in Nairobi, Gachagua said the opposition leaders are committed to putting the interests of Kenyans first.
He described the meeting as productive and timely, noting that the country needs serious conversations about leadership, the economy, and the welfare of ordinary citizens.
The meeting took place at the PLP party headquarters and brought together key opposition figures from different political parties.
Among those present were Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, DAP-K party leader Eugene Wamalwa, former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i, Narc-Kenya leader Martha Karua, and Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) Deputy Party Leader Cleophas Malala.
Also in attendance was Hon. Omingo Magara, alongside other leaders and party officials.
According to Gachagua, the leaders agreed that Kenya is going through difficult times and that many citizens are struggling with the high cost of living, unemployment, and lack of trust in public institutions.
He said these challenges require a united opposition that is ready to listen to the people and offer practical solutions.
He added that the opposition is not just focused on winning power in 2027, but on restoring hope and dignity to Kenyans.
Gachagua said the idea of “liberation” means freeing citizens from economic hardship, corruption, and poor governance.
He emphasized that leadership should serve the people, not burden them.
The former DP also praised the spirit of cooperation among the leaders, saying it showed maturity and a shared vision for the country.
He noted that despite coming from different political backgrounds, the leaders agreed on the need to work together for the greater good of Kenya.
