School bus was involved in a road accident in Endarasha, Nyeri County, after it veered off the road and overturned on Saturday morning, January 31, 2026. 

The incident caused alarm among residents and parents, as emergency teams quickly moved in to help those affected.

The Kenya Red Cross confirmed the accident through a post on X, stating that its emergency response teams were immediately deployed to the scene. 

According to the Red Cross, the bus lost control before leaving the road and overturning, prompting a swift rescue operation.

“A road traffic incident involving a school bus that veered off the road and overturned has been reported in Endarasha, Nyeri County. 

Response teams have been deployed. More to follow,” the Red Cross said in its statement.

Soon after the accident, Red Cross responders, together with other emergency services and local residents, worked to secure the area and assist passengers. 

The focus of the rescue teams was to ensure that everyone on board was accounted for and given immediate help where needed. 

Victims were assessed at the scene before being referred to nearby health facilities for further attention.

Witnesses described a tense morning as the bus lay on its side by the roadside. 

Many residents rushed to the scene to offer help, while others helped guide traffic to avoid further accidents. 

Police officers later arrived to control the situation and begin preliminary investigations.

Details about what caused the accident were not immediately clear.
