According to him, the deputy secretary should not appear indecisive or slow in responding to such significant changes.
“The people are watching. Leadership is not about words alone; it is about action,” the MP added.
Following the removal of Sifuna, the party announced that the deputy secretary will temporarily take over the role.
This temporary appointment, however, has been met with mixed reactions from members, some of whom feel that the move does not fully address the concerns raised by Sifuna’s supporters.
Amisi said that party unity and adherence to commitments are crucial at this time.
He warned that any delay or hesitation from the deputy secretary could lead to further dissatisfaction among members and weaken ODM’s organisational strength ahead of the upcoming elections.
The MP also reminded party leaders that a special meeting of ODM delegates is scheduled for March 27.
He urged all leaders, including the deputy secretary, to ensure that preparations are completed in time and that the party presents a united front.
“The March 27 meeting is important. We cannot afford distractions or internal disputes to take center stage,” Amisi stated.
He further emphasised that ODM members expect their leaders to act responsibly and uphold promises made to the party and its supporters.
According to Amisi, leadership credibility depends on consistency and following through on commitments, especially in times of internal change.
Political analysts observing the situation say that Amisi’s call reflects broader tensions within ODM as the party navigates leadership transitions.
They note that how the deputy secretary responds could influence public perception of the party’s unity and readiness for the next electoral cycle.
