Kileleshwa MCA Robert Alai has stirred fresh political debate after launching a sharp attack on Ruth Odinga over her recent remarks about her brother, Raila Odinga.

Alai praised comments made by Oketch Salah, saying they reflected what many people have been thinking but were afraid to say publicly.

“Wonderful response from Oketch Salah,” Alai stated, before turning his criticism toward Ruth Odinga.

In his remarks, Alai argued that Ruth should not speak as though she were Raila’s wife.

He questioned what he described as her attempt to show total control and ownership over Raila’s legacy and decisions.

According to him, leadership and influence around Raila were never limited to close family members.

Alai claimed that many non-family members stood with Raila for years, supported him politically, and built strong personal bonds with him.

He suggested that some of those individuals may have understood and connected with Raila even more deeply than certain relatives.

By saying this, Alai appeared to challenge the idea that only family members can speak authoritatively about Raila’s political life or personal matters.

The MCA also made controversial claims about a trip to India that involved Ruth Odinga and others.

He alleged that the visit was a holiday and not connected to Baba’s medical treatment, as some had believed.

“If they think we don’t know, let them go on. We will tell them what was happening in India,” he said, hinting that there is more information that could come out.

These statements have added fuel to an already sensitive political environment. Raila Odinga, often referred to as Baba by his supporters, remains a towering figure in Kenyan politics.

Any discussion about his family or inner circle easily draws public attention and emotional reactions from his supporters and critics alike.

Alai went further to question Ruth Odinga’s public expression of grief. He said he had not seen a tear drop from her eyes and suggested that she may not be missing Raila personally, but rather the political influence and financial opportunities that came with his popularity.

This comment has drawn mixed reactions, with some seeing it as a bold expression of frustration, while others consider it too personal and harsh.

Political observers note that disputes within influential political families often spill into the public space, especially when questions of legacy, power, and influence arise.

However, such exchanges can also deepen divisions within political movements and among supporters.

So far, Ruth Odinga has not publicly responded to Alai’s remarks. Whether she chooses to address the accusations or remain silent may shape the next phase of this unfolding political drama.
