Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna has called for justice and accountability following the killing of a man identified as Vincent, saying those responsible must be traced and held to account.

Speaking to residents during a visit to the affected family, Sifuna said leaders will stand with the family during this difficult time and ensure that justice is pursued even after the burial.

“Ile kitu kidogo tunaeza fanya kwa sasa, ni kuwapunguzia mzigo,” he said, explaining that the first step is to support the family as they prepare to lay their loved one to rest.

He noted that the pain of losing a family member is heavy and that leaders have a duty to show solidarity in moments of grief.

The senator added that beyond the burial, the focus must shift to ensuring that the truth about Vincent’s death comes out.

“Hata baada ya mazishi tuone vile haki itapatikana,” he stated, emphasizing that justice should not end with condolences and funeral arrangements.

Sifuna also pointed out that government-issued bullets are marked and can be traced. “Risasi zote za serikali ziko na namba na polisi anaweza kutafutwa na akapatikana,” he said.

According to him, this means that if proper investigations are carried out, it should be possible to establish who fired the fatal shot.

He insisted that accountability is necessary, especially when a life has been lost. “Sisi tunataka uajibikaji kwa serikali na yule aliyehusika na mauaji ya Vincent lazima ajulikane,” he declared.

The remarks come amid public concern over the circumstances surrounding Vincent’s death.

Residents have been demanding clear answers, with some calling for independent investigations to ensure transparency.

Sifuna urged investigative agencies to conduct thorough and impartial inquiries. He said the government must demonstrate that it takes such incidents seriously and that no one is above the law.

The senator further noted that accountability helps restore public trust in institutions.

When investigations are done properly and those responsible are held accountable, he said, communities feel safer and more confident in the justice system.

He reassured the family that they will not walk alone in their search for justice. According to him, leaders and the community must remain united until the truth is established.
