Reuben Ndolo has maintained that the Linda Mwananchi faction is in possession of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party’s official certificate, escalating the ongoing dispute within the party over legitimacy and control.

Speaking amid rising tensions within ODM, Ndolo asserted that the certificate held by the Linda Mwananchi team is genuine and legally recognised.

He insisted that their faction is operating within the law and has the authority to carry out party activities under the ODM banner.

“We have the ODM party certificate,” Ndolo said, adding that the document in their possession confirms their legitimacy as the rightful office bearers.

His remarks come at a time when rival factions within the party continue to clash over leadership and the direction of the party.

The Linda Mwananchi group has recently been mobilising supporters across the country, positioning itself as a people-driven movement within ODM.

Ndolo noted that their actions are guided by the party constitution and aimed at strengthening internal democracy.

He further dismissed claims by opposing factions that the Linda Mwananchi team is acting outside the party’s structures.

According to him, those challenging their position are misinformed or deliberately attempting to mislead party members and the public.

“The certificate we hold is not in dispute. It is valid and authentic,” he said, urging members to remain calm and avoid being drawn into unnecessary divisions.

The dispute over the ODM certificate has raised concerns about possible parallel leadership structures within the party.

Analysts warn that such divisions could weaken the party’s unity ahead of future political engagements if not resolved promptly.

Ndolo, however, expressed confidence that the matter would be resolved through lawful means.

He called on relevant authorities to uphold the rule of law and ensure that the rightful holders of the certificate are recognised.

He also appealed to ODM supporters to stay focused on the party’s broader agenda, saying internal wrangles should not derail its mission.

“Our focus remains on serving Kenyans and advancing the interests of the people,” Ndolo said.

The standoff highlights deeper issues within ODM, with factions increasingly taking public positions on matters that were previously handled internally.

Observers note that how the leadership manages the current dispute will be critical in determining the party’s stability moving forward.
