Students who participated in the session raised concerns about confusion surrounding course selection, university preferences, and the overall application process.
In response, the agency provided clarifications and guidance to help applicants better understand how to approach their choices.
KUCCPS noted that many students are uncertain about how to balance their academic performance with course competitiveness, often leading to anxiety when selecting programmes.
Others expressed difficulty in understanding how to prioritise institutions and courses within the application portal.
Addressing these concerns, Wahome explained that while cut-off points have been published on the KUCCPS portal, they will not be the sole determinant of placement decisions this year.
She emphasised that the placement process considers multiple factors, and students should not rely exclusively on the displayed cut-off points when making their selections.
She encouraged applicants to carefully review available programmes, consider their interests and strengths, and ensure they select a range of courses with varying levels of competitiveness. This, she said, would increase their chances of securing placement.
Oluoch also urged students to make full use of the guidance materials provided on the KUCCPS platform, including detailed course requirements and institutional information.
He noted that understanding subject requirements and cluster points is essential in making realistic and informed choices.
The agency further advised students to avoid last-minute applications, warning that rushing through the process could lead to errors or poorly considered decisions.
Instead, applicants were encouraged to take time to review their options and seek clarification where necessary.
KUCCPS acknowledged that the placement system can be complex, particularly for first-time applicants, and reiterated its commitment to providing support throughout the application period.
Officials said additional engagement sessions and support channels would be made available to address emerging concerns.
