“Much thanks to God for seeing me through this difficult time. Today, following your prayers, I leave the hospital that has been my home for some days,” Osotsi said.
The discharge comes days after the senator was attacked by a group of about 20 people.
According to his account, the incident occurred at Acacia Restaurant, a place he frequents for meals.
Osotsi said the group entered the restaurant and began calling out his name, initially giving no indication of their intentions.
He noted that at the time, he was alone, having sent his security personnel to withdraw money from an M-Pesa outlet nearby.
He recounted that the situation quickly escalated after the group approached him, turning what appeared to be a normal interaction into a violent confrontation.
The senator sustained injuries during the attack, which led to his admission to hospital for treatment.
While receiving care, Osotsi remained in communication with the public through his social media accounts, updating supporters on his condition and progress.
His messages drew widespread concern and solidarity from leaders and members of the public.
Following his discharge, the senator said he was on the path to recovery and would continue to monitor his health as he resumes his duties.
He also reiterated his appreciation to medical staff for their care and professionalism during his stay at the hospital.
The incident has raised concerns over the safety of public officials, particularly in public spaces. Observers say such attacks highlight the need for heightened security measures and vigilance.
