Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi has dismissed claims linking his recent attack in Kisumu to a love triangle, terming the allegations baseless and misleading.

Speaking to the press on Saturday, April 11, 2026, shortly after being discharged from hospital, Osotsi addressed speculation that has been circulating online and in some sections of the public.

He said the claims were unfounded and urged Kenyans to disregard them.

“This was not a love thing, I have a beautiful wife, and we are happily married,” he said, adding that attempts to associate the attack with his personal relationships were false.

The senator maintained that the incident in Kisumu should not be trivialised through what he described as unfounded rumours.

He cautioned against the spread of misinformation, noting that such claims could divert attention from the seriousness of the matter.

Osotsi reiterated that the attack was a violent incident that required thorough investigation, rather than speculation driven by unverified claims.

He said linking it to a love triangle not only misrepresents the facts but also undermines efforts to establish the truth.

He further emphasised the need for responsible communication, particularly on social media platforms, where the claims had gained traction.

According to the senator, spreading inaccurate information risks misleading the public and causing unnecessary confusion.

The lawmaker said he remains focused on recovering from the injuries he sustained during the attack and continuing with his responsibilities.

He noted that his family has been supportive throughout the ordeal and dismissed any suggestion that his personal life had a role in the incident.

Osotsi also called on authorities to expedite investigations into the attack, expressing confidence that the truth would eventually come to light.

He stressed that accountability was important, both for his safety and to prevent similar incidents in the future.

“I urge those spreading such claims to stop and allow investigations to proceed. This is a serious matter that should not be reduced to rumours,” he said.

The attack, which left the senator hospitalised for several days, has sparked public concern and raised questions about the safety of political leaders.

While details of the incident remain under investigation, Osotsi’s latest remarks seek to clarify his position and counter narratives he considers misleading.
