The announcement comes just days after Osotsi was attacked in Kisumu on April 8, 2026, an incident that left him injured and hospitalised.
The senator has since been discharged and has spoken publicly about the circumstances surrounding the attack.
Osotsi has accused senior government officials of using security agencies for political control and failing to address what he described as growing insecurity in the region.
He argued that the situation reflects a broader pattern that needs to be addressed to safeguard political freedom.
Speaking after his discharge from hospital on Saturday, April 11, 2026, the senator linked the attack to what he termed wider political interference.
He said such incidents should not be allowed to intimidate leaders or disrupt political engagement.
He also defended his presence in Kisumu, stating that he has every right to move freely within the region.
According to Osotsi, his activities in the area are legitimate and should not be subjected to undue scrutiny or restriction.
“We will not be intimidated. We have a right to be here and to engage with the people,” he said.
Leaders within the Linda Mwananchi faction echoed his sentiments, insisting that their planned rally in Kisumu will go on as scheduled.
They said the movement remains committed to its agenda and will continue reaching out to supporters despite the prevailing challenges.
At the same time, they called for calm among their supporters and urged them to maintain peace during political gatherings.
They emphasised the need for orderly conduct to avoid further confrontations and ensure the safety of all participants.
The planned rally is expected to draw supporters from across the region, with organisers indicating that adequate preparations are being made to ensure a smooth event.
They also called on security agencies to provide protection and facilitate a peaceful environment.
