According to police, several suspects were arrested during the operation and are currently in custody as investigations continue.
Authorities indicated that the arrests form part of a broader effort to dismantle networks involved in organised theft and the illegal trade of stolen items.
“We carried out a targeted operation based on intelligence reports, and we were able to recover a significant number of stolen items.
Several suspects have been apprehended and will be processed through the justice system,” said Mohammud.
Among the items recovered were dozens of mobile phones, laptops, television sets and various household goods believed to have been stolen from different parts of Nairobi.
Police also recovered toy pistols, which investigators say may have been used to intimidate victims during criminal activities.
The commander said efforts are underway to identify the rightful owners of the recovered items.
Members of the public who have recently lost property have been urged to report to the nearest police station or visit designated centres to verify and claim their belongings.
“We encourage anyone who may have been a victim of theft to come forward with proof of ownership so that the recovered items can be returned to them,” he added.
Police further revealed that the operation is part of an ongoing campaign aimed at curbing rising cases of theft and enhancing security within the city.
Officers have intensified patrols and intelligence-led operations in areas identified as hotspots for criminal activity.
Mohammud warned individuals involved in crime that security agencies will continue to pursue them, stressing that no effort will be spared in restoring order and protecting residents.
At the same time, he called on members of the public to cooperate with law enforcement agencies by providing information that could help in the fight against crime.
He emphasised that community support remains crucial in identifying and apprehending suspects.
