What was meant to be a joyful moment for football lovers in India ended in chaos after Lionel Messi’s appearance at Kolkata’s Salt Lake Stadium left many fans frustrated and angry.

Thousands of supporters had gathered at the stadium hoping to see the global football icon up close during his visit to the city.

Many fans had paid as much as 12,000 rupees to attend the event, expecting a memorable experience with the Argentine star.

The excitement inside the stadium was high as people waited eagerly for Messi to step onto the pitch. However, their hopes were quickly dashed.

When Messi finally appeared, he did not interact with the crowd as many had expected.

Instead, he walked briefly around the pitch while surrounded by a large number of officials, security personnel, and invited celebrities. From many sections of the stadium, fans could barely see him.

Some supporters said they only caught a glimpse of his head from a distance.
After roughly 20 minutes, Messi was escorted out of the stadium by security. His early exit sparked anger among sections of the crowd.

Soon after, some fans began damaging stadium seats and throwing objects toward the pitch in protest.

Security officers moved in to control the situation and prevent further destruction.

The incident drew strong reactions from leaders and organizers. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said she was deeply upset by what happened.

She described the scenes as disturbing and expressed concern over how quickly the situation turned tense.

Messi is currently in India as part of his “GOAT” tour, a promotional visit celebrating his football career and achievements.

The tour includes stops in several major cities, including Kolkata, Hyderabad, Mumbai, and Delhi.

The events are meant to connect the football legend with fans and promote the sport across the country.
