Speaking during a public forum, the commission highlighted that these demonstrations show citizens are increasingly unwilling to tolerate corruption and poor governance.
EACC officials emphasized that the fight against corruption has made significant progress in recent years.
New laws and regulations, alongside improved e-procurement systems, have strengthened transparency in government operations.
These measures ensure that public resources are allocated properly and reduce opportunities for mismanagement or theft.
“The protests by young people are a clear message: Kenyans want honesty and fairness in leadership,” said a senior EACC official.
“It is a call to everyone to uphold accountability in both public and private sectors. Citizens must remain vigilant and actively participate in monitoring how public funds are used.”
The commission pointed out that rising convictions in corruption cases demonstrate that the legal system is increasingly holding wrongdoers accountable.
They stressed that enforcement, combined with preventive measures like e-procurement, has helped reduce chances for corrupt practices in government projects.
EACC also encouraged citizens to engage responsibly in civic matters, including reporting suspicious activities, participating in public forums, and supporting initiatives that promote ethical governance.
The commission highlighted that public vigilance is crucial in ensuring that anti-corruption efforts succeed.
