The decision comes as the ministry continues to process the growing number of review applications submitted by students who wish to challenge their current school placements.
Cabinet Secretary (CS) Ogamba said that, so far, a total of 355,457 review applications have been received across the country.
Of these, more than 211,000 have already been approved, reflecting the ministry’s ongoing efforts to ensure fairness and transparency in the placement process.
According to CS Ogamba, the review exercise allows students and parents to request reconsideration of school placements based on specific criteria, including distance from home, special talents, or other personal circumstances.
The ministry emphasized that this process is crucial for addressing concerns and ensuring that every student is placed in a school that suits their needs and academic potential.
“The review process is designed to give students a second chance if they feel their placement does not meet their expectations or personal circumstances,” CS Ogamba said.
He encouraged all applicants to adhere to the new schedule and complete any required submissions within the revised period to avoid disqualification.
The ministry also reminded schools and county education offices to cooperate fully with the review exercise, ensuring that approved applications are processed efficiently.
CS Ogamba highlighted that the goal is to provide clarity and satisfaction to students and parents, reducing anxiety and uncertainty ahead of the new school term.
Officials noted that delays in earlier stages of processing were due to the high volume of applications and the need for careful verification of each case.
The ministry assured the public that the revised review dates would allow enough time to address pending applications fairly.
