Residents of Miti Moja in Kitale are still shaken after the shocking killing of Evans Ng’ang’a, a well-known PSV driver who was attacked and murdered on Thursday evening.

The incident has left the community frightened, mourning, and demanding justice for a man many describe as hardworking, peaceful, and dedicated to his job.

According to relatives, Ng’ang’a left work as usual and was heading home when four unknown attackers confronted him.

Witnesses say the men appeared to have been trailing him before they pounced.

The attackers allegedly dragged him to a dark section of the road, where they assaulted him repeatedly.

By the time help arrived, Ng’ang’a had suffered serious injuries that cost him his life.

Family members say they are struggling to come to terms with the cruel manner in which he was killed.

His wife described him as a caring husband and a responsible father who worked long hours to support his family.

She said the news of his death broke her completely, especially knowing he had no chance to defend himself.

Neighbours who rushed to the scene moments after the attack said the brutality shocked them.

Many residents spent the night outside, fearing for their safety and hoping the attackers would be caught quickly.

Some locals believe the murder might be linked to rising insecurity in the area, urging authorities to increase patrols and install more streetlights to keep criminal gangs at bay.

Community elders have joined the calls for swift investigations, saying the killing has caused tension and fear among PSV operators in Kitale.

Drivers who worked closely with Ng’ang’a described him as disciplined and friendly, adding that his death is a big loss to their team.
