Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya has spoken about a high-level meeting he hosted at his office, describing it as both warm and meaningful.

The governor said he had the pleasure of receiving former Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr. Fred Matiang’i, who was accompanied by United Opposition head of secretariat Dr. Mukhisa Kituyi and Kisii Senator Richard Onyonka.

The leaders paid him a courtesy call, creating an opportunity for open conversation and reflection on their shared history in public service.

According to Natembeya, the meeting allowed them to reconnect and look back at the time they served together at the Ministry of Interior and National Administration.

He noted that their past working relationship was built on discipline, teamwork, and a strong sense of duty to the country.

During the discussions, the leaders focused on their common vision for Kenya’s future.

Natembeya said the talks revolved around the need for a transformed nation that puts citizens at the center of leadership and governance.

They emphasized that effective leadership must be guided by integrity, accountability, and genuine service to the people.

The governor noted that the conversation was not about politics alone, but about the values that should guide those entrusted with public office.

He said they shared concerns about the challenges facing ordinary Kenyans and agreed that leaders must always listen to the people and act in their best interests.

Natembeya described the meeting as encouraging, saying it reminded him of the ideals that once brought them together in government service.

He added that revisiting those memories strengthened his resolve to continue serving with honesty and dedication.

He further said that such engagements are important in shaping ideas and building unity among leaders who share similar principles, regardless of their current political positions.
