Mama Ida Odinga has expressed heartfelt gratitude to President William Ruto and the government of Kenya for their support during the final days and funeral of the late Raila Amolo Odinga, fondly known as Baba.

Speaking on behalf of the Odinga family, she acknowledged the efforts of the President and state officials in ensuring that Baba received the necessary attention and care during his passing.

In a statement, Ida Odinga said the family felt deeply the presence and assistance of the government during a very difficult time.

She highlighted the mobilization and deployment of resources by the state, which helped make arrangements for Baba’s final rites smooth and dignified.

“On behalf of our family, I wish to thank the President of the Republic of Kenya, William Ruto, and the entire government of Kenya that mobilized and deployed at the service of Baba and on his death,” she said.

Ida Odinga noted that the family saw and felt the genuine hand of friendship from the President, describing it as a positive and comforting gesture during a moment of personal grief.

She emphasized that the support went beyond protocol, offering emotional and logistical assistance that eased the family’s burden.

The mother of the late party leader said the family was grateful for the manner in which state officers coordinated with them, ensuring that all arrangements were respectful and well-organized.

She praised the professionalism and care shown by all government personnel involved, noting that it reflected a shared respect for Baba and his legacy.
