Jubilee Party Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni has paid an emotional tribute to opposition leader Raila Odinga, describing him as a towering national figure whose ideals, sacrifices, and struggle for justice have left a lasting mark on Kenya.

In a statement shared on X on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, Kioni chose to speak not as a political rival, but as a citizen reflecting on the life and legacy of a man who shaped the country’s political landscape.
“Jakom, we speak of you now in reflection.

Not in anger that you are gone, but in love for the nation you gave your life to,” part of Kioni’s statement read, capturing the tone of remembrance and deep respect.

Kioni highlighted Raila’s decades-long fight for justice, freedom, and democracy.

He noted that Raila’s contributions went beyond party lines and political divides, shaping Kenya’s governance, multiparty system, and efforts toward inclusive leadership.

According to Kioni, Raila’s unwavering commitment to these ideals sets an example for current and future leaders, reminding them that public service is a duty rather than a platform for personal gain.

The Jubilee Secretary General also used the occasion to reflect on the current political climate in Kenya.

He cautioned against letting disagreements, partisanship, or short-term interests overshadow the values Raila championed.

Kioni urged politicians and citizens alike to honor Raila’s memory through dialogue, unity, and constructive engagement, rather than conflict.
