Jubilee Party has officially switched on campaign mode, and according to its newly nominated Deputy Party Leader Jeremiah Kioni, the party is leaving nothing to chance as it prepares to sell Fred Matiang’i as its presidential candidate ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Speaking during an interview with a local radio station on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, Kioni revealed that Jubilee has already rolled out a nationwide strategy aimed at making sure Matiang’i is well known, well understood, and well positioned across the country.

He said the party plans to conduct extensive countrywide tours to popularise Matiang’i’s bid and connect him directly with wananchi.

But beyond the public rallies and open engagements, Kioni disclosed that there is a lot happening quietly behind the scenes.

According to him, Matiang’i is currently holding high-level boardroom meetings with carefully selected groups drawn from different regions, political parties, and community leadership structures. Some of these meetings, he revealed, stretch late into the night.

Kioni described these engagements as serious conversations focused on listening, planning, and building trust, rather than making noise for cameras.

He said Matiang’i is keen on understanding the concerns of various communities and leaders before fully stepping onto the national campaign stage.

“He is not the type of leader who enjoys political theatrics,” Kioni said. He explained that unlike many politicians who thrive on public spectacle, Matiang’i prefers quiet, strategic engagement.

In his view, leadership is about substance, not showmanship, and real work often happens away from microphones and flashing lights.

The former MP painted Matiang’i as a disciplined and focused leader who believes that meaningful political groundwork must be laid before mass mobilisation begins.

He noted that the former Interior Cabinet Secretary is deliberately avoiding premature hype, choosing instead to build strong alliances and a solid policy foundation.

Kioni said Jubilee’s mobilisation strategy is now fully active and structured to ensure Matiang’i “hits the ground running” when the campaign season fully opens up.

He added that the party has learned lessons from past elections and understands the importance of early preparation, organisation, and unity.

According to Kioni, the upcoming nationwide tours will not just be about speeches, but about listening to ordinary Kenyans.

Jubilee plans to engage youth groups, women leaders, professionals, religious institutions, and grassroots organisers to ensure the campaign reflects real issues affecting people on the ground.

He also hinted that Matiang’i’s calm and methodical approach is resonating with many leaders who are tired of loud politics with little delivery.

Kioni suggested that this quiet style could become Matiang’i’s biggest strength, especially at a time when many Kenyans are craving seriousness, competence, and order in leadership.
