Kileleshwa MCA Robert Alai has stirred sharp debate after making explosive claims about Jubilee Party, former President Uhuru Kenyatta, and their alleged attitude toward President William Ruto and leaders from the Nyanza region.
According to Alai, Jubilee Party has positioned itself as the only political outfit in Central Kenya that does not openly oppose President Ruto.
He claimed, however, that this acceptance comes with a troubling condition.
Alai alleged that Jubilee leaders believe the President would be more popular if he removed all Luo leaders from government.
Alai went further to claim that Jubilee Deputy Party Leader Jeremiah Kioni, just like Uhuru Kenyatta, believes that a government cannot function properly if it includes people from the Luo community.
He linked this belief to what he described as quiet but deliberate efforts to push ODM leaders back to the streets instead of working within government.
He accused Uhuru of actively backing ODM figures such as Edwin Sifuna, Otiende Amolo, James Orengo, and Winnie Odinga, claiming the goal is to keep ODM in opposition mode rather than participating in governance.
According to Alai, this strategy is meant to weaken President Ruto’s administration while keeping ODM politically active outside government.
Alai also revisited events following the 2024 Gen Z protests and the breach of Parliament. He recalled that President Ruto extended an olive branch to ODM by offering the party 11 Cabinet positions.
However, Alai claimed Uhuru Kenyatta convinced Raila Odinga not to accept the offer, insisting that Ruto’s government would collapse within days.
When the government did not fall and Ruto went ahead with appointments, Alai alleged that Uhuru again advised Raila that he did not need to join government because Uhuru would help him “get the government back” later.
According to Alai, Uhuru strongly dislikes the idea of people from Nyanza being part of the government or working within it.
He claimed Uhuru believes their presence interferes with his political plans and influence.
In his most provocative remarks, Alai said he would soon reveal what Uhuru Kenyatta and Kibochi allegedly told UDA leaders about people from Nyanza during the transition period when power was handed over to President Ruto.
