President William Ruto has defended his call for national unity, saying Kenya has enough resources and opportunities for every citizen if the country chooses to work together.

Speaking on the need to consolidate the nation, the President said leadership should never be based on exclusion or the idea that one group must lose for another to benefit.

“There is justification for us to consolidate the country into one,” Ruto said. He added that Kenya’s diversity should be seen as strength, not a weakness.

According to him, the country has enough for everyone, and progress should not be treated like a competition where some must be pushed aside.

“One does not need to miss for the other one to get,” he said, stressing that fair governance should benefit all Kenyans.

The President noted that past politics of division have slowed development and deepened mistrust among communities.

He argued that moving forward requires a shift in mindset, where leaders focus on shared goals instead of narrow political interests.

In his view, unity is not about abandoning political identity, but about putting the country first.

Ruto also praised leaders from the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) who are currently serving in his administration.

He said their presence in government reflects political maturity and a willingness to rise above party lines for the sake of national development.

According to the President, this cooperation shows that Kenyans can disagree politically and still work together to solve common problems.

He dismissed claims that collaboration between different political parties weakens democracy.

Instead, Ruto said inclusive leadership strengthens the country by ensuring that more voices are heard at the decision-making table.

He emphasized that development projects, economic recovery, and service delivery should never be viewed through a partisan lens.
