The President accused the MP of attempting to mislead the public through what he described as political conmanship and intellectual deceit.
Speaking during a public engagement, President Ruto said the issue of Safaricom shares has been discussed openly before and should not be twisted to score political points.
He maintained that the government’s actions were lawful, transparent, and aimed at protecting the interests of Kenyans.
According to the President, leaders should be honest with citizens instead of spreading confusion on matters of national importance.
Ruto said it was unfortunate that some leaders were choosing to misrepresent facts, especially on sensitive economic issues that affect millions of Kenyans.
He insisted that the sale of shares was conducted within the law and followed proper procedures.
The President urged leaders to take time to understand policy decisions before addressing the public.
The Head of State also challenged MP Nyoro to provide clear facts instead of what he termed as half-truths meant to stir public anger.
He said Kenya needs leaders who offer solutions and constructive debate, not those who rely on alarmist statements.
President Ruto noted that Safaricom remains a strong and profitable company, and that the government has continued to safeguard public interest in all its dealings.
He added that decisions taken by his administration are guided by the need to grow the economy, attract investment, and create opportunities for citizens.
Supporters of the President echoed his remarks, saying leaders should avoid politicizing economic matters.
They argued that misleading statements can hurt investor confidence and slow down economic growth.
On the other hand, MP Nyoro has previously raised concerns over the handling of Safaricom shares, arguing that Parliament and the public deserve clear explanations.
His comments have sparked debate, drawing mixed reactions from both sides of the political divide.
