Officials from the Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) in Homa Bay have raised serious concerns about their safety after the recent union elections.

They claim that they are being trailed and fear that their lives could be in danger.

The officials said the threats started after they lost the election, and they believe the surveillance is meant to intimidate them.

According to the KUPPET leaders, the situation has caused fear among members, who now feel unsafe moving around freely in the county.

The officials said they have noticed unusual activities, such as being followed while traveling and receiving messages that suggest someone is monitoring their movements.

They added that these actions have made them feel threatened and unsafe, especially since the elections were already tense.

The KUPPET leaders also said that they have tried to report the matter to the relevant authorities, but they feel the response has been slow.

They urged the police to take the claims seriously and provide protection to those who feel threatened.

In a statement, the officials said they are committed to serving teachers and protecting their rights, but they cannot continue to work under constant fear.

They asked for urgent action to ensure that no harm comes to them or their families.

The union leaders also called on the public to support them and speak out against intimidation and threats.

They said such actions undermine democracy and weaken the union’s ability to represent teachers effectively.

Some members of the union have expressed concern over the allegations, saying that the situation could affect the stability of KUPPET in Homa Bay.

They urged the leadership to remain calm and follow the right procedures to address the matter.
