While many leaders remembered Ngeno as bold and outspoken, Ntutu described him in a different light.
“In their eyes, you are a hero. In mine, you were a gentle, devoted father with the biggest heart,” she said.
She recalled the simple joys they shared over the years laughter, dreams, and quiet family moments. To her, those were the true treasures of their life together.
“Losing you feels like losing the music of my youth, the laughter, the dreams, the simplicity of believing we had endless time,” she said, her voice filled with pain.
Ngeno died on Saturday, February 28, alongside six others in a helicopter crash at Chepkieb in Nandi County.
His sudden death shocked the nation and left his family and supporters struggling to come to terms with the loss.
Despite her grief, Ntutu said death could not take away the love they shared. “It cannot erase the love, the memories, the family we created. You will always be my Joha,” she told mourners who listened in silence.
She spoke tenderly about the journey they walked together from young love to raising a family describing it as a partnership built on trust and shared dreams.
Her tribute reminded many in the congregation that behind every public figure is a private life filled with personal bonds and quiet sacrifices.
As she concluded her message, Ntutu’s final words captured the depth of her loss and enduring love. “Rest gently, my love. You are forever part of me.”
