The family of the late Nick Kosgey has released a detailed funeral programme following his death in a tragic helicopter crash that also claimed the life of Emurua Dikirr Member of Parliament Johana Ng’eno.

The accident shocked many across the country and left families and leaders mourning the sudden loss of six people.

In a statement shared on Facebook by Hillary Barchok on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, the family outlined the planned memorial events leading up to Kosgey’s burial.

The governor conveyed the message on behalf of the bereaved family, giving details of how they intend to honour their loved one together with the other victims.

According to the programme, a joint mass service for all six victims of the crash will be held on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at AGC Karen Church in Nairobi.

The service is expected to bring together relatives, friends, leaders, and members of the public who wish to pay their last respects.

“On behalf of the family of the late Nick Kosgey, we announce the schedule of his funeral programme.

Wednesday, 4th March 2026: A joint mass service for all six air crash victims will be held at AGC Karen Church, in Nairobi,” part of the statement read.

The family further explained that on Friday, March 6, Kosgey’s body, together with those of two other victims, will be flown from Nairobi to Emurua Dikirr Primary School.

A joint funeral service will be conducted there to allow the local community to mourn and celebrate the lives of the departed.

Emurua Dikirr holds special significance as it is home to many who knew and worked closely with the victims.

Later that evening, the body will be transported to Bomet and preserved at Tenwek Hospital Mortuary.

This will allow family members and close friends time to prepare for the final burial ceremony.

On Saturday, March 7, the body will leave the mortuary for Precious Academy Grounds in Kipkebe.

A funeral service will be held at the venue before Kosgey is laid to rest at his family home in Kipkebe.

The family has invited relatives, friends, and well-wishers to join them during the final send-off.
